This contract opportunity is ideal for licensed practical nurses who are passionate about working in settings serving students ages K-21 with severe disabilities and complex health conditions. Starting ASAP and continuing through late May 2027, youll be based at a specialized school where compassion, resilience, and clinical skills are essential.
Key Qualifications and Skills:
Active LPN/LVN license with experience in school or pediatric settings Demonstrated ability to provide care for students with multiple and severe disabilities, including medically fragile conditions Proficiency in G-tube feedings and use of Hoyer lifts Comfort with diapering and supporting daily living activities for multiple students Experience managing daily medication administration and responding promptly to seizures or related medical events Professional communication skills with staff, students, and families Collaborative, flexible, and positive team player Genuine enjoyment in working with students on the autism spectrum and with a range of medical disabilities Ability to thrive in a demanding school environment with high, complex needs
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver exceptional nursing care and emotional support to students throughout the school day Ensure proper use of medical equipment, including G-tube and Hoyer lifts, maintaining safety at all times Administer medications accurately and document procedures as required Respond to medical emergencies with a calm, skilled approach Work closely with educators, therapists, and support staff to provide a comprehensive care plan for each student Communicate effectively with caregivers and the broader support team Your dedication will be rewarded as you provide vital support in a special education school where your expertise truly matters.
