On-Call Registered Nurse Location:
Missoula, MT, 59808 Summary The On-Call Registered Nurse (RN) provides nursing support and clinical guidance on an as-needed basis to support patient care operations after hours, on weekends, during staff absences, and at other times as assigned. This position responds to patient care issues, provides triage and nursing assessment within scope, supports caregivers and field staff, coordinates with providers and family members as appropriate, and helps ensure continuity of care consistent with company standards and applicable regulations. Respond to after-hours and on-call patient care needs in a timely, professional, and clinically appropriate manner. Provide nursing triage, assessment, and guidance by phone and/or in person, as applicable. Review patient concerns, evaluate urgent clinical issues, and determine appropriate escalation steps. Communicate with physicians, advanced practice providers, caregivers, patients, family members, and internal staff as needed regarding changes in condition and care needs. Complete nursing documentation, incident reporting, and clinical notes accurately and timely. Support coordination of care, including recommendations for follow-up, emergency intervention, or other appropriate services. Maintain compliance with state nurse practice standards, company policies, confidentiality requirements, and patient care documentation standards. Participate in case communication and handoff to branch or clinical leadership for follow-up as needed. Qualifications Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state. Graduate of an accredited nursing program. Current CPR certification, if required for assigned duties. Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of current auto insurance, if travel is required. Ability to make sound clinical judgments and respond calmly in urgent situations. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams. Home health, hospice, home care, case management, or triage experience preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of nursing principles, patient assessment, and care coordination. Ability to recognize changes in patient condition and escalate concerns appropriately. Skill in documentation, time management, and professional communication. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately. Working knowledge of electronic documentation systems and communication platforms. Schedule Hours may fluctuate depending on organizational needs. Corporate office hours are Monday-Friday. Occasional overtime (OT) may be required. Working Environment and Physical Requirements The work environment characteristics described represent those an employee may encounter while performing the essential functions of this job. Work is performed in a fast-paced office environment, with exposure to fluctuating temperatures, moderate noise levels, cleaning chemicals, airborne particles, and occasional outside fluctuating weather conditions. Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs. Bend, kneel, squat, and reach above shoulders; assist with transfers and push wheelchairs. Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs/ladders, sit, twist, and turn for extended periods. Must be able to see, hear, and respond to individuals' needs.Benefits
