Job Description
Cone Health seeks an ARMC Specials Recovery Nurse to provide high-quality post-procedure care for patients recovering from interventional and specialty procedures. In this role, you will perform comprehensive assessments, closely monitor vital signs, manage pain and sedation, and respond promptly to changes in patient condition. You will collaborate with physicians, techs, and other nurses to coordinate safe, timely discharges or transfers. Responsibilities Provide comprehensive post-procedure assessments for specials and interventional patients Continuously monitor vital signs, level of consciousness, and pain/sedation status Manage IV lines, medications, and airway support per physician orders and protocols Recognize and respond to clinical changes and emergencies in the recovery setting Educate patients and families on post-procedure expectations, medications, and follow-up care Coordinate care and handoffs with physicians, anesthesia, techs, and inpatient units Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the EHR accurately and promptly Adhere to infection prevention, safety, and regulatory standards in the recovery area Participate in quality improvement, evidence-based practice initiatives, and staff education Support Cone Health's culture of compassion, inclusivity, and patient-centered care Required Skills Post-anesthesia patient assessment Vital signs and hemodynamic monitoring Airway management IV therapy and medication administration Pain and sedation management Use of EHR systems Patient and family education Infection prevention and control Emergency response in clinical settings Interdisciplinary care coordination
