BONUSES. Duties Help This position is loced in the Health Services Department the FCC Butner, North Carolina. Responsible for providing a full range of nursing services to include assessing, diagnosing, planning, implementing, and evaluing the medical condition of the inme pients. Provides informion to the health care team members and contributes to the maintenance or restorion of health stus. May serve as a lead nurse in providing direction and guidance to RNs or other medical staff in coordining the delivery of pient care. Responsible for monitoring and evaluing the quality and approprieness of pients care, and ensuring th nursing standards are met on a consistent basis. Along with all other correctional institution employees, incumbent is charged with responsibility for maintaining security of the institution. The staff correctional responsibilities precede all others required by this position and are performed on a regular and recurring basis. The work experience must have equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. At the GS-09 and above grade level, many positions may require experience in a specialty area of nursing. In addition to the above requirements, applicants must meet the following requirement: At least one full year of professional nursing experience (equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or above) and possession of a diploma, associe degree, bachelor's degree or master's degree in Nursing from a professional nursing program. Some examples of this qualifying experience are: Experience counseling clients regarding cancer diagnosis, prognosis and trement, side effects of chemotherapy and radiion and necessary follow up procedures. Experience administering and understanding oncology orders and pient protocols, chemotherapy, blood products and IV fluids. Experience assessing and identifying high risk symptoms/behaviors in cancer pients, to include suicidal risk, homicidal risk and risk for verbal and/or physical abuse. If applicable, credit given for paid and unpaid experience. To receive proper credit, you must show the actual time (such as the number of hours worked per week) spent in activities.
