During your contract, you'll be surrounded by lush parks, picturesque trails, and historic landmarks—the perfect backdrop for exploring local cuisine or enjoying downtime adventures. This assignment offers a unique chance to elevate your nursing expertise in a 30-bed, private-room Cardiac Medical Progressive Care setting. Working with an advanced team, you'll collaborate across shifts, manage cardiac patients with complex conditions, and engage with innovative leadership approaches. Broaden your professional scope by utilizing state-of-the-art technology, including EPIC and centralized remote telemetry, and gain exposure to rapid response team practices, self-scheduling systems, and varied patient acuity.

Schedule:

3x12 hour shifts, Days (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM) Weekend rotation and holidays as needed Self-assisted, flexible scheduling every 6 weeks

Qualifications:

Active RN license with at least 2 years of recent Cardiac PCU experience BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIH preferred Comfortable with 1:5 patient ratios and managing drips/telemetry First-time travelers are welcome; previous charge RN and rapid response experience preferred Strong skills in cardiac specialty procedures and interventions (see below) EPIC experience required

Key Skills:

Dysrhythmia interpretation/management Continuous telemetry monitoring Pre/Post Cardiac Catheterization care Peripheral and PICC line management Management and titration of cardiac/vasoactive drips External CPAP/BIPAP, tracheostomy, and chest tube management Procedural sedation administration

Responsibilities:

Provide expert care to cardiac stepdown and PCU patients (CHF, ACS, arrhythmias, post-cath, MI, pacemaker) Secondary focus on respiratory diagnoses (COPD, pneumonia, BIPAP) Utilize centralized cardiac monitoring resources Collaborate with 24/7 nurse assistants and day/evening RN secretaries
