Category Nursing - RN-Stepdown Job Type Contract Experienced registered nurses with a background in stepdown care are invited to take on an engaging contract assignment caring for patients with diverse, complex needs. This position offers a supportive clinical environment where your advanced assessment and priority-setting skills are valued and developed.
Schedule/Hours:
36 hours per week
Qualifications:
Active RN license in good standing At least one year of current experience in a Stepdown or Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team Proficiency in electronic medical records is preferred BLS and ACLS certifications required
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct patient care for individuals transferring from intensive care who require close monitoring Conduct thorough assessments, monitor vital signs, and promptly recognize clinical changes Administer medications, manage complex IV drips, and assist with bedside procedures Educate patients and families on care plans and recovery steps Collaborate proactively with physicians, physical therapists, and other care team members to ensure continuity of care Accurately document medical interventions and patient progress in the EMR system Respond swiftly and effectively in urgent or emergent situations
