An Intensive Care Registered Nurse cares for acutely ill patients in an intensive care or critical care clinical setting. Works with Physicians and other specialists as part of a critical care team. Monitors patients, coordinates care, and provides advanced life support as needed.

CVICU RN
for a night shift travel assignment requiring open heart, ECMO, Impella, and balloon pump experience. Details CVICU unit caring for adult and geriatric patients Receives patients directly from the OR who are sedated, intubated, and on multiple drips Night shift schedule: 3x12 hours, 1900-0700 Every other weekend required Floating required to ED, ICU, and CVIMC as needed 1:1-2 patient ratio Uses specialized equipment including Swan-Ganz catheter, temporary pacer, pericardial and pleural chest tubes, Impella, IABP, CRRT, and Prismaflex Responsible for ventilator management and titration of gtts Requirements Active NC or compact RN license required Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required Minimum 2 years of CVICU experience required Open heart experience required Previous charge nurse experience preferred Experience with post cardiac surgery care directly from the OR required Skilled in arterial line management, central line care, and blood product administration Skilled in ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and airway suctioning Experience with CRRT/CVVHD and continuous IV sedation required Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips required Experience managing and interpreting dysrhythmias required ECMO, sheath removal, and TAVR experience preferred EPIC charting experience preferred Two professional references required, from assignments within the last year and ideally within 6 months of start date Additional Information Provide direct post-operative cardiac surgery care in a high-acuity ICU setting Float within the hospital as needed to support patient care needs Previous staff or travelers must have been separated from the facility for at least 1 year and in good standing to be eligible for return Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility, as local candidates will not be accepted
