Job Description

Where You'll Work CHI St. Alexius Health Washburn Family Clinic is a provider based rural health clinic affiliated with CHI St. Alexius Health Turtle Lake, a critical access hospital. Sue Wardner, FNP, Amy Gotvaslee, FNP, and Amanda Schmidt, FNP see patients at the clinic as well as take call at the hospital. CHI St. Alexius Health Washburn Family Clinic offers full range family practice services including care of all chronic medical conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol and asthma, routine physicals for adults and children. Well women exams are available in association with "Women's Way", which offers free well women exams to women over 40 who are uninsured or underinsured. Same day clinic appointments available. Dexa Scan (bone density) services are offered once a month by appointments only. CT services are available at CHI St. Alexius Health Turtle Lake. CHI St. Alexius Health Washburn Clinic is a National Health Service Corps provider. CHI St. Alexius Health Turtle Lake is a 25 bed critical access hospital with a Level V Emergency Department that is available 24 hours a day. Our hospital has been committed to providing patients quality medical treatment in the Turtle Lake area and surrounding communities since 1952. Through the years, the hospital has sought to continually upgrade the quality and numbers of services it provides. The hospital's affiliation with major medical centers and health care agencies has allowed it to expand its health care services through a network that begins at the local level. CHI St. Alexius Health Turtle Lake is equipped with 2 emergency rooms, on-site lab, radiology, CT and physical therapy services. Our patients have access to 24/7 emergency care, swing-bed programs, and acute care services. Job Summary and Responsibilities Seeking Clinic RN or LPN for Washburn and Turtle Lake Clinics As our Clinic RN, you will be a central figure in our patient care team, delivering exceptional, compassionate care that truly makes a difference in our patients' lives. Every day you will collaborate on comprehensive screenings, conduct critical risk assessments, provide vital preventative health education, and expertly coordinate care for diverse patient populations, leveraging technology to streamline processes. You will ensure patients feel informed and at ease, patiently guiding them through instructions and addressing their concerns.

To be successful in this role, you will combine robust clinical knowledge and technological proficiency with genuine compassion, strong communication skills, and an adaptable approach to learning and patient-centered care. Perform general nursing care to patients by following established standards and procedures Obtain patient consent for care and ensures patient confidentiality Obtain and document health history, information on chief complaint, vital signs, and health risk factors and assesses disease condition Provide patient care based on practice guidelines, standards of care, and federal/state laws and regulations Execute prescribed treatments and medical interventions, administers prescribed medications, and monitor and document treatment progress and patient response. Refer to/consult with physicians, other health providers, and community resources to prevent/resolve problems or concerns Educate patients and families about health status, health maintenance, and management of acute and chronic conditions Job Requirements Required Nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing ND State Board of Nursing current RN or LPN License. (Licensed to practice registered nursing in the state of ND or in a compact state. Graduate Nurse (G.N.) must practice under the supervision of a registered nurse while the work authorization to practice is valid.) Good communications skills are necessary because of the constant communication, both oral and written with patients and families. Accountable for own conduct, promotes and supports working relationships amongst coworkers and all of the clinic staff. Maintains confidentiality of all patient information Preferred Minimum of one year hospital experience or clinic experience
