(AHA) Overview We are excited to present a highly rewarding and dynamic opportunity for Registered Nurses specializing in Labor and Delivery (L&D). This role offers a comprehensive scope of responsibilities within a state-of-the-art healthcare environment, dedicated to providing exceptional patient care during one of the most critical times in a family's journey. The ideal candidate will possess a strong clinical background, including experience with Epic electronic health record (EHR) systems, advanced obstetric procedures such as botulinum toxin treatment, and a passion for delivering compassionate, patient-centered care. This position is designed for motivated professionals eager to advance their careers in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary setting that values expertise across various specialties including ophthalmology, critical care, and long-term care. Responsibilities Provide comprehensive nursing care to women during labor, delivery, and postpartum periods, ensuring safety and comfort for both mother and newborn. Utilize advanced clinical skills such as IV infusion, suturing, catheterization, and aseptic technique to support patient needs effectively. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and other specialists to coordinate patient care plans. Monitor vital signs, perform physical examinations, and assess fetal well-being using telemetry and other diagnostic tools. Administer medications accurately, including pain management therapies and specialized treatments like botulinum toxin injections when applicable. Document all patient interactions thoroughly within EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner or Athenahealth while adhering to HIPAA regulations. Participate in quality improvement initiatives aligned with NCQA standards and ensure compliance with infection control protocols. Support patients through discharge planning, education on postpartum care, and follow-up procedures to promote optimal recovery outcomes.
