Registered Nurse - Long Term Care Job Summary Provides and coordinates nursing care for residents in a long-term care setting using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Administers medications and treatments, develops and updates care plans, and supervises licensed practical nurses and nursing assistants. Serves as a clinical resource and ensures care is delivered in accordance with regulatory standards. Education & Experience Graduate of an accredited school of nursing: Required Prior experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing setting: Preferred Licenses & Certifications Registered Nurse licensure in the state of practice: Required Basic Life Support (BLS) certification: Required Key Responsibilities Assess residents on admission and on an ongoing basis, and develop individualized plans of care. Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and facility policy. Supervise, delegate to and provide clinical direction for LPNs and Certified Nursing Assistants. Evaluate resident response to interventions and revise the plan of care as needed. Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation and support regulatory survey readiness.
