ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse to join a 10-bed geriatric psychiatric short-stay unit at a community hospital serving New Hampshire's North Country. This unit provides specialized, voluntary short-stay care for patients aged 65 and older who are facing mental health challenges. This is a permanent, direct hire, full-time night shift position for a nurse who wants to make a genuine difference in the lives of older adults during a vulnerable time in their care.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

Planning, delivering, and evaluating patient care within RN scope of practice, tailored to the unique needs of older adults facing mental health challenges Prioritizing care for patients with complex needs and identifying subtle changes in patient status to communicate to providers Creating a safe, calm, and supportive therapeutic environment for patients and their families Building and communicating comprehensive care plans across the multidisciplinary team Appropriately delegating tasks to LNAs/LPNs and verifying that care is completed and accurately communicated back Administering medications and evaluating their effectiveness using sound clinical judgment Maintaining complete, accurate, and timely documentation Mentoring peers, teaching patients and families, and contributing to unit-based research and process improvement

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Required:

Valid RN License Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Preferred:

Associate's degree or higher in Nursing or a related field

WHAT'S INCLUDED

Competitive hourly pay: $35
