The Director of Nursing (DON) is responsible for the administration, leadership, coordination, and continuous improvement of nursing services across all CAMcare locations. Reporting directly to the Chief Medical Officer, the DON serves as the organization's senior nursing leader and advisor on matters involving nursing practice, patient safety, quality improvement, population health, infection prevention, workforce development, and regulatory compliance. The DON provides strategic and operational leadership to nursing and clinical support staff while ensuring compliance with all applicable Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH), Joint Commission, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and New Jersey regulatory requirements.Department:

Clinical Leadership and Nursing Operations Direct, coordinate, and oversee nursing services throughout CAMcare Health Corporation. Collaborate with the Chief Medical Officer in developing and implementing clinical programs, nursing policies, procedures, and standards of care. Provide leadership, mentorship, coaching, and professional development to Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Medical Assistants, and clinical support staff. Monitor nursing staffing levels and patient care needs to ensure safe, effective, and efficient operations. Evaluate staffing patterns and make recommendations to optimize patient access, quality outcomes, and operational efficiency. Coordinate staff scheduling, approve leave requests, and support workforce planning initiatives. Participate in recruitment, hiring, onboarding, retention, and succession planning efforts for nursing and clinical staff. Ensure delivery of evidence-based, patient-centered nursing care across all CAMcare locations. Conduct clinical rounds and site assessments to monitor patient care, medication management, sterilization practices, clinical equipment maintenance, and overall clinical operations. Quality Improvement and Population Health Implement and maintain an ongoing program to measure, monitor, assess, and improve the quality and appropriateness of nursing care and services. Lead nursing participation in Quality Improvement (QI), Quality Assurance (QA), and Performance Improvement (PI) initiatives. Monitor nursing-related clinical quality measures, preventive health metrics, chronic disease outcomes, patient safety indicators, and Uniform Data System (UDS) measures. Collaborate with Quality, Medical, Operations, and Executive Leadership to improve patient outcomes and organizational performance. Analyze clinical trends and quality data and implement evidence-based interventions to improve outcomes. Support implementation of corrective action plans resulting from audits, surveys, quality reviews, and performance improvement activities. Provide oversight of concurrent chart reviews, utilization review activities, and quality monitoring processes. Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) and Care Coordination Lead nursing participation in interdisciplinary team-based care consistent with Patient-Centered Medical Home principles. Oversee nursing care coordination activities, including referrals, transitions of care, chronic disease management, patient outreach, and preventive health initiatives. Collaborate with medical, behavioral health, dental, pharmacy, care management, and community health teams to improve continuity of care. Support care-gap closure initiatives and patient engagement efforts. Promote coordinated care delivery that improves access, patient satisfaction, and health outcomes. Regulatory Compliance and Accreditation Ensure nursing services remain compliant with all applicable federal, state, local, and accreditation standards. Maintain current knowledge of nursing regulations, ambulatory care standards, and healthcare compliance requirements. Prepare nursing departments for HRSA Operational Site Visits (OSVs), Joint Commission surveys, and regulatory inspections. Review and update nursing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with current laws, regulations, and best practices. Disseminate regulatory updates, standards, and organizational policies to clinical staff. Maintain records and documentation required for regulatory, accreditation, and compliance purposes. Clinical Competency and Professional Development Develop, implement, and oversee a comprehensive nursing competency assessment program. Ensure completion of new employee orientation, annual competencies, mandatory education, skills validations, and remediation activities. Verify active licensure, certifications, and credentials for all nursing personnel. Coordinate nursing continuing education and professional development opportunities. Promote lifelong learning and advancement of professional nursing practice. Ensure nursing staff practice within New Jersey scope of practice requirements and organizational standards. Infection Prevention and Patient Safety Serve as nursing leadership representative for Infection Prevention and Control activities. Monitor compliance with infection prevention standards, vaccine management protocols, sterilization processes, and exposure control practices. Participate in infection surveillance, outbreak response planning, and corrective action initiatives. Promote a culture of patient safety throughout the organization. Monitor and investigate nursing-related patient safety events and implement preventative measures. Support organizational readiness for accreditation and regulatory reviews. Risk Management and Compliance Participate in incident investigations, root cause analyses, corrective action planning, and patient safety initiatives. Monitor nursing-related adverse events, patient complaints, and patient grievances. Support implementation of risk management and corporate compliance initiatives. Ensure timely investigation, documentation, and resolution of identified concerns. Comply with all requirements of CAMcare's Corporate Compliance Program. Community Health and Health Equity Support initiatives addressing social drivers of health and health disparities. Collaborate with community organizations, public health agencies, and healthcare partners to address community healthcare needs. Participate in programs that improve healthcare access and health equity for underserved populations. Assist in developing community-focused health initiatives aligned with CAMcare's mission. Committee Participation and Leadership Serve on and provide leadership to committees including: Quality Improvement Patient Safety Infection Prevention Compliance Credentialing Emergency Preparedness Clinical Operations Other committees as assigned Support organizational strategic planning and clinical program development initiatives. Provide leadership and recommendations regarding nursing practice and clinical operations. Emergency Preparedness Maintain knowledge of CAMcare's Emergency Operations Plan and Continuity of Operations Plan. Participate in emergency preparedness planning, drills, tabletop exercises, and bioterrorism preparedness activities. Provide nursing leadership during emergencies and disaster response efforts. Demonstrate knowledge of the Incident Command System and organizational emergency response procedures. Additional Duties Maintain confidentiality of patient, employee, and organizational information. Demonstrate professionalism and adherence to CAMcare's mission, vision, and values. Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Medical Officer or executive leadership.What You Will Bring:
Required Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Preferred Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN), Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Business Administration, or related healthcare field. Experience Required Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible nursing leadership experience. Experience supervising clinical staff and managing nursing operations. Experience in quality improvement, patient safety, and regulatory compliance. Preferred Experience in an ambulatory care setting. Experience in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) or Community Health Center. Experience with HRSA Operational Site Visits (OSV). Experience with Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) recognition and maintenance. Experience with Joint Commission Ambulatory Care Accreditation. Experience with population health management and quality reporting initiatives. Licensure and Certifications Required Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New Jersey. Current CPR certification. Preferred Leadership, ambulatory care, or specialty nursing certifications. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Comprehensive knowledge of nursing administration and ambulatory care operations. Knowledge of FQHC regulations, HRSA program requirements, and community health center operations. Knowledge of Joint Commission accreditation standards. Knowledge of PCMH principles and quality improvement methodologies. Knowledge of infection prevention and patient safety practices. Knowledge of population health strategies and UDS performance measures. Knowledge of New Jersey nursing laws, regulations, and scope of practice requirements. Strong leadership, analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to interpret clinical data and implement improvement strategies. Proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and reporting tools. Ability to establish collaborative relationships with providers, staff, community partners, and external agencies. Regulatory Compliance and Accreditation Survey Readiness Performance Standards Maintain continuous readiness for HRSA, Joint Commission, OSHA, and state regulatory reviews. Achieve zero condition-level findings attributable to nursing operations. Complete all corrective action plans within designated deadlines.
