1 Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced Behavioral Health RN for a day-shift assignment requiring an active NJ or Compact RN license and at least 1 year of inpatient behavioral health experience. Details Behavioral Health unit within a hospital setting Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM Patient ratio of 1:5 Every other weekend and every other holiday required No on-call requirements Floating required among five designated hospitals (Voorhees, Marlton, Mt. Holly, Willingboro, and OLOL) based on staffing needs Epic charting experience is a plus Requirements Active NJ or Compact RN license required, verified via Nursys within 2 weeks of submission BLS certification required, not expiring within 30 days of assignment start CPI certification preferred Minimum 2 years of specialty experience required, with recent experience within the last 12 months At least 1 year of inpatient behavioral health experience required Charge nurse experience preferred Experience with medication administration including antianxiety, antidepressant, antipsychotic, mood stabilizer, and sedative/analgesic medications preferred Experience caring for patients with anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, depressive disorders, personality disorders, PTSD, psychotic disorders, schizophrenia-spectrum disorders, self-injurious behavior, substance use, suicidal behavior, and trauma-related disorders preferred Skills in crisis intervention, de-escalation techniques, psychoeducation, and behavior management techniques required Skills in blood glucose monitoring, lab value interpretation, EKG/ECG acquisition, and seclusion protocols preferred Knowledge of physical hold protocols and emergent chemical restraint administration preferred Familiarity with legal aspects of seclusion use and voluntary/involuntary commitment preferred Must be clean shaven for fit testing prior to working on the unit Must complete pre-employment labs within 48 hours of signing Additional Information Provide direct care to patients in an inpatient behavioral health setting, including medication administration and crisis intervention Navy blue scrubs required RTO must be submitted at time of consideration; no requests accepted afterward, and no RTO permitted during the first week of assignment Block scheduling not permitted COVID-19 and Flu vaccines required with no exemptions Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are subject to the local pay rate First-time travelers accepted, though experienced travelers are preferred
