This contract role provides hands-on nursing support for a young student with Infantile Neuroaxonal Dystrophy (INAD). Key Qualifications & Experience:
Current, unencumbered RN license Demonstrated pediatric experience, preferably with medically fragile children Strong familiarity with NG-tube care (not G-tube) Ability to lift and transport a non-ambulatory, non-verbal child (approx. 24 lbs) Experience with equipment such as standers and gait-trainers is highly desirable Confidence in providing care during school transport (bussing is required) Excellent communication skills and professional collaboration
What You'll Do:
Provide one-to-one, onsite nursing care for a 3-year-old student throughout the school day (approx. 8am - 3pm) Manage and monitor NG-tube feedings, respiratory and mobility needs, and other health protocols Assist with the transfer, use of adaptive equipment, and safe transportation of the student on and off the bus Maintain accurate and detailed health records and communicate with the educational and healthcare teams Respond swiftly to emergencies and ensure a safe, nurturing environment for the student This assignment offers the reward of making a profound impact in a child's life while enhancing your expertise in pediatric school nursing.
