Make a meaningful impact by supporting the unique needs of a young learner as an onsite school nurse for a long-term contract. You'll provide one-on-one care for a three-year-old student diagnosed with Infantile Neuroaxonal Dystrophy (INAD) during school hours, ensuring their safety and well-being throughout daily routines.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver comprehensive nursing care in a school setting for a child with INAD from January to June. Administer and monitor NG-tube feedings (not G-tube). Safely perform lifting, transport, and positioning for a 24-pound, non-ambulatory, non-verbal student who uses assistive devices such as a stander and gait trainer. Support the student during bussing times and throughout the school day (8am 3pm, approximately 35 hours/week). Respond promptly to health needs and maintain optimal comfort, safety, and dignity for the student.
Desired Experience & Qualifications:
Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure required. Minimum of one year pediatric nursing experience, with experience in a school setting strongly preferred. Familiarity with NG-tube management in children. Comfortable with assisting children with disabilities, including lifts and working with mobility devices. Ability to communicate effectively with educational staff, healthcare teams, and families. Organized, compassionate, and vigilant, with a strong sense of responsibility.
