Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Labor and Delivery Nurse to join our team. As a Labor and Delivery Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality care to expectant mothers, supporting them through the birthing process, and ensuring the health and well-being of both mother and baby. This position is ideal for experienced nurses who are passionate about providing exceptional care and are looking for a rewarding and challenging career.Responsibilities:
- Deliver exceptional patient care in the labor and delivery unit, prioritizing patient safety and comfort.
- Monitor fetal heart rates and provide guidance to expectant mothers during the birthing process.
- Assist with surgical procedures and provide support in the operating room (OR) as needed.
- Administer medications, perform phlebotomy, and provide venous access to patients.
- Provide ostomy care and manage patient needs related to ostomy devices.
- Perform routine medical tests, including mammography, and ensure accurate and timely documentation.
- Support patients with long-term care needs, including those with chronic illnesses or disabilities.
- Utilize electronic health records (EHRs) and other technology to document patient information and track patient progress.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure that patient needs are met and that patient care is coordinated.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of evidence-based nursing practices.
Requirements:
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of employment.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) or a related field.
- Experience in labor and delivery nursing, including experience with high-risk deliveries and emergency situations.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
- Ability to travel, as this position may require travel nursing assignments.
- Proficiency with Athenahealth electronic health records and other healthcare technology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
- Strong clinical skills and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize patient needs in a dynamic setting.
Job Type:
Contract Pay:
$3,000.00- $3,200.
