The Senior Registered Nurse will:
Perform initial, recertification surveys, and complaint investigations of health facilities establishing, monitoring and enforcing quality standards to assure the safety and well-being of residents, patients, and clients to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. How does it get done? The Senior Registered Nurse is responsible for: Determining whether healthcare is delivered appropriately and meets state and federal compliance standards; Determining if patient's needs are met after observation of treatments (e.g. intravenous therapy, tube feedings, wound dressing changes) and observation of the care provided by a variety of treatment settings; Determining the adequacy of staffing and assessing the delivery of care based on observations of nursing care in progress; Performing lead surveyor duties and training; Supporting the ACC Program Manager and ACC supervisors. Who are the customers? New Mexico Residents are the primary customers. Ideal Candidate New Mexico Residents are the primary customers. Minimum Qualification Must possess a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in New Mexico, or eligibility for such licensure in accordance with New Mexico requirements, or eligibility for a temporary license issued for employment at a specific institution in New Mexico and three (3) years of experience as it pertains to the essential duties and responsibilities of the classification. Employment Requirements Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Must obtain a Defensive Driving Certificate. Working Conditions Work is performed in an office and in acute and continuing care facilities with extensive computer and some phone usage. Some sitting, standing, walking, stooping, bending reaching and lifting up to twenty (20) pounds may be required. Very Extensive in-state travel with frequent overnight stays averaging one week at a time, is required. Occasional out-of state travel with the occasional overnight stay is required.
