A Registered Nurse provides medical care and treatment, educates patients about their conditions, and provides emotional support to patients and families. Works in hospitals, schools, clinics or community health centers. Works under the supervision of a physician or other specialist, and serves as the primary point of care for patients in a hospital setting. May specialize in emergency room work, or treatment for a particular condition, or specialize in working with infants, the elderly or other patient groups. May work as an advanced practice specialists and prescribe medications in addition to offering specialty care.

Assists the Quality Department by providing clinical quality data and analysis to improve Quality and Patient Safety. Works collaboratively with the Directors of Magnet and Nursing Professional Development to ensure relevant data is available to support the Pathways to Excellence and Magnet success. Provides staff education to optimize teamwork, patient safety, and Just Culture. Supports Comprehensive Unit-Based Safety Program (CUSP) teams, TeamSTEPPS facilitators, and Just Culture Champions
RESPONSIBILITIES
Supports the Quality Department by providing clinical quality data and analysis to improve Quality and Patient Safety. Assists in educating staff in assigned clinical/department areas on clinical outcome measures, patient safety, key processes, and appropriate use of recognized quality improvement tools. Collaborates with CNO, Magnet Director, and Nursing Professional Development Director as needed. Supports and participates in departmental and system committees and project teams. Disseminates quality improvement information to pertinent departments and committees. Provides administrative and staff updates and education regarding any regulatory or standards changes. Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Current, unrestricted NYS RN licensure Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of pervious hospital nursing experience

Strong analytical, computer, and communication skills Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills Bachelor's degree in Nursing•preferred
