The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department provides timely, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care to patients presenting with illnesses, injuries, and medical emergencies.

The ER RN performs comprehensive assessments, identifies changes in patient condition, prioritizes care based on patient acuity, implements appropriate interventions, evaluates patient responses, and collaborates closely with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.

Emergency nursing provides new graduate RNs with the opportunity to develop a broad clinical foundation while caring for patients across a wide range of ages, diagnoses, and acuity levels.

As an Emergency Room RN, you will develop skills in: Rapid and comprehensive patient assessment Recognizing changes in patient condition Prioritizing care based on patient acuity Responding to medical and surgical emergencies Medication administration and clinical interventions Collaboration with physicians and multidisciplinary teams Patient and family education and support Clinical decision-making and critical thinking Effective communication in a fast-paced environment Providing compassionate care during stressful and unexpected situations Our Emergency Room Residency is designed to provide new graduate nurses with the education, clinical experience, and support needed to develop a strong foundation in emergency nursing. RN Qualifications Graduate of an approved school of Registered Professional Nursing Current New York State Registered Professional Nurse (RN) license required RN license must be active at least two weeks prior to the residency start date BSN preferred New graduate RNs are encouraged to apply Strong interest in Emergency Nursing Prior LPN experience may be considered when determining starting rate Compensation

New Graduate RN Hire Rate:

$41.93/hour
