Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive healthcare support during a school field day event scheduled for October 3rd. The nurse will be responsible for delivering immediate medical care, managing minor injuries, and ensuring the safety and well-being of students, staff, and attendees. This role requires a highly organized professional with a strong background in emergency response, pediatric care, and health regulations compliance. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, clinical expertise, and the ability to respond swiftly in high-pressure situations. 10/3 11:30am to 3:30pm Responsibilities Provide first aid and emergency medical treatment to students, staff, and visitors during the event. Assess injuries and illnesses accurately, prioritizing urgent cases for immediate intervention. Administer medications, injections, and treatments following established protocols and state regulations. Monitor vital signs, perform basic life support (BLS), CPR, and operate AED devices as needed. Maintain detailed medical documentation using electronic health record (EHR) systems while ensuring patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines. Communicate effectively with parents, school personnel, and emergency services regarding medical situations. Ensure compliance with health regulations and school policies throughout the event. Assist in setting up the clinic area, including IV insertion equipment, supplies for manual handling, and infection control materials. Conduct health screenings or assessments as required by school policies or event needs. Collaborate with interprofessional teams to coordinate care plans for students with special health needs or chronic conditions. Qualifications Valid State Board of Nursing licensure as a Registered Nurse with current registration. Proven experience in emergency medicine, hospital medicine, or urgent care settings; experience at Level I or Level II trauma centers is highly desirable. Strong background in pediatrics, medical-surgical nursing, or school clinic experience. Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems and medical documentation procedures. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and medication administration protocols. Ability to perform venipuncture, IV insertion, and operate AED devices confidently. Familiarity with health regulations compliance including HIPAA and state nursing practice acts. Excellent patient assessment skills combined with effective parent communication abilities. Demonstrated ability to respond swiftly to acute care situations involving trauma or medical emergencies. Prior experience working with children or in school health programs is preferred.
