Category Schools - RN Nurse Job Type Contract Take on a rewarding contract assignment as a 1:1 Registered Nurse, working closely with a 9th grade student who experiences absent seizures, but is fully engaged in all school activities. This opportunity is located in the Depew, NY area, conveniently accessible from North Tonawanda and other neighboring communities. You'll be a key presence, ensuring the student's safety and well-being both during and after school hours—including supporting his goal of playing JV football by being on-site at the practice facility. This full-time position starts as soon as possible and runs through the end of the school year. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 3:00 - 5:30 P.M., plus Saturdays from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 Noon.
Desired Experience & Qualifications:
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State Previous experience in school nursing, pediatrics, or 1:1 care preferred Skilled in observing and managing seizure activity Professional, compassionate, and able to foster trust with students and school staff Strong communication and documentation skills Reliable transportation to and from the Depew area
Key Responsibilities:
Provide attentive 1:1 care and supervision for a high school student during school, after-school, and Saturday activities Monitor, track, and respond to seizure activity as per the student's individualized care plan Serve as the student's advocate, facilitating participation in curricular and extracurricular events Collaborate with school personnel, healthcare providers, and guardians to ensure consistent support In this role, you will earn $40-$45 per hour, reflecting your valuable expertise and commitment.
