$1,246 Position Overview We are seeking an experienced ICU/SCU Travel RN to join a Universal Care Unit in Oneonta, NY. This unit flexes between intermediate/stepdown and critical care acuity . Due to the potential for high-acuity patients, the facility is initially seeking critical care-trained nurses who can provide safe, autonomous care and respond quickly as the unit activates.

IMPORTANT

Stepdown experience must be clearly demonstrated on the candidate's resume.

Based on patient acuity Unit flexes between intermediate and critical care levels Tele-intensivist support through Equum Medical Primarily agency travelers at go-live Permanent staff hiring and onboarding will follow Clinical Expectations Ideal candidates will have strong critical care and stepdown experience and be comfortable managing patients with varying levels of acuity.

Experience should include:

Intermediate/stepdown patient care Critical care patient management Autonomous patient care Basic medical critical care management Managing common critical care drips, including: Heparin Insulin Cardizem Levophed Ability to recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately Comfort working collaboratively with providers and tele-intensivist support Float Expectations Travelers must be comfortable floating to units with different acuity levels. May float to Med/Tele during periods of low census Ratios and patient acuity may vary when floating Flexibility is essential Orientation The facility is developing a hybrid orientation model , which may include: Shadowing opportunities on inpatient units ICU/SCU orientation EMR training Equipment training, including pumps Unit workflow and process training Ideal Candidate We are looking for an RN who is: Critical care trained Has clearly documented stepdown experience Comfortable caring for patients across multiple acuity levels Adaptable and comfortable in a startup environment Confident providing autonomous patient care Comfortable with collaborative practice Open to process improvement Familiar with PDSA cycles Comfortable floating to Med/Tele when needed Experienced with common critical care medications and drips Why This Assignment?
