Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care to patients in state-operated facilities, correctional institutions, and infirmary units. The role involves patient assessment, medication administration, emergency care, documentation, and coordination of healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities:

Assess, monitor, and document patients' symptoms, vital signs, reactions, and progress. Administer prescribed medications, treatments, immunizations, and other nursing interventions. Provide immediate medical attention during emergencies, including first aid and CPR. Monitor restrained or isolated patients at required intervals, including every 15 minutes when applicable. Develop and review care plans and provide direct nursing care to bedridden patients. Perform specialized procedures, including IV therapy, wound care, oxygen therapy, blood transfusions, catheterization, and phlebotomy, as required. Maintain accurate medical records, medication logs, incident reports, and controlled-substance inventories. Coordinate medical appointments, prescriptions, and referrals. Support staff training, orientation, and supervision when assigned. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure quality patient care.

Minimum Qualifications:

Current, valid Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the Ohio Board of Nursing, as required under Ohio Revised Code Section 4723.03. Knowledge of professional nursing procedures, applicable regulations, and healthcare policies. Ability to operate standard medical equipment, maintain accurate documentation, and respond effectively to emergencies. #
