Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Registered Nurse (RN) with extensive Operating Room (OR) experience to join our dynamic surgical team. Responsibilities Prepare patients for surgery by performing comprehensive assessments, reviewing medical histories, and ensuring all preoperative protocols are followed. Assist surgeons during procedures by maintaining a sterile environment, managing surgical instruments, and providing necessary supplies promptly. Monitor patient vital signs and physiological responses throughout surgeries using advanced EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner. Administer medications including anesthesia agents, antibiotics, and pain management treatments with precision and adherence to safety standards. Manage postoperative recovery by assessing patient status, providing wound care including suturing and ostomy care, and educating patients on recovery protocols. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate discharge planning, case management, and follow-up care for complex cases involving trauma medicine or critical care needs. Maintain meticulous medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and hospital policies while utilizing EMR systems effectively. Skills Proven experience working in high-acuity settings such as Level I or Level II trauma centers, ICU, PICU, or emergency rooms. Proficiency in surgical procedures including OR assistance, suturing techniques, catheterization (urinary and vascular), and sterile processing. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, and laboratory procedures. Skilled in IV infusion techniques, venipuncture (phlebotomy), tube feeding management, ventilator support, and aseptic technique. Familiarity with EMR/EHR platforms such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks to ensure accurate documentation and compliance standards. Experience working with diverse patient populations including pediatrics, geriatrics (memory care & dementia), individuals with developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs. Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments including vital signs monitoring, physical examinations, diagnostic evaluation (sonography), and infection control practices. Knowledge of Workers' Compensation law related to occupational health cases and experience managing acute pain or hospice & palliative medicine cases.
