Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Medical-Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients admitted for medical-surgical conditions, with a focus on telemetry monitoring to detect and respond to cardiac arrhythmias and other critical changes. The ideal candidate will possess extensive clinical expertise, demonstrate excellent patient assessment skills, and be proficient in a variety of advanced nursing procedures. Responsibilities Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and detailed health histories to inform individualized care plans. Monitor cardiac rhythms continuously using telemetry systems, promptly identifying abnormal patterns and initiating appropriate interventions. Administer medications accurately, including IV infusions, injections, and Botulinum toxin treatments when indicated. Perform advanced procedures such as suturing, catheterization (including cardiac catheterization), tube feeding management, and sterile dressing changes. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop discharge planning strategies and ensure seamless patient transitions across care settings. Maintain meticulous medical documentation within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner, adhering to HIPAA regulations. Provide patient education on medication management, post-discharge care, and lifestyle modifications related to cardiac health and chronic conditions. Respond effectively to emergency situations utilizing critical care response procedures and basic life support protocols. Support infection control practices through aseptic techniques and proper specimen collection/processing. Participate in quality improvement initiatives aligned with NCQA standards and hospital protocols.
