Registered Nurse (RN) -
Correctional Healthcare Location:
Lebanon, OH Pay:
$34-$38/hour
Schedule:
Monday-Sunday rotation
Shift:
2:00 PM-12:00
AM Hours:
40 hours/week

At least 1 year
Weekend:
Every other weekend, with one weekday off (day TBD) Job Summary We are seeking a qualified Registered Nurse (RN) to provide direct patient care in a secure correctional healthcare setting. The RN will be responsible for delivering quality nursing care, administering medications and treatments, responding to emergencies, and supporting overall patient health and wellness. Responsibilities Administer medications, including oral, intramuscular, and intravenous medications. Monitor patient medication compliance. Perform nursing treatments and assist with nurse and physician sick calls. Assist with chronic care clinics and ongoing patient management. Respond to medical emergencies and provide emergency care and CPR. Perform subjective and objective patient assessments. Obtain vital signs and accurately document patient findings. Collect urine and other bodily fluid specimens. Prepare patients for transfer or release, including reviewing care and transfer/release summaries. Ensure discharge medication orders are completed and forwarded to pharmacy services. Assist physicians with medical procedures. Provide patient education regarding healthcare maintenance and disease prevention. Review shift reports and communicate important patient information. Assist other healthcare staff and assume nursing duties when needed. Participate in quality assurance, training, and health and wellness programs. Provide training and guidance to new nurses, agency nurses, LPNs, and healthcare aides. Serve as a clinical resource for healthcare and security staff. Perform charge nurse duties when assigned, including making shift assignments and adjustments. Assist with medical supply inventory and ordering. Attend meetings and participate in multidisciplinary team activities. Maintain professional conduct and comply with all applicable institutional policies and standards. Perform other related nursing duties as assigned. Work Environment & Security Requirements Secure, high-security correctional healthcare environment. Direct patient care is provided to incarcerated individuals. All staff must pass through a metal detector daily. All bags entering the facility must be clear. Purses are not permitted. Tobacco products, including vapes, are not permitted inside the facility. Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license. Previous correctional, hospital, or clinical nursing experience preferred. Strong assessment, documentation, communication, and clinical skills. Ability to work independently and effectively in a secure healthcare environment. CPR/BLS certification as required. #
