Operate electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth to document patient information securely and efficiently. Provide specialized care for patients with infectious diseases, respiratory issues requiring ventilator management, or post-acute needs such as hospice or palliative care. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans. Assist with diagnostic evaluations like laboratory specimen collection, medical imaging procedures, or cardiac catheterization preparations. Support triage processes in urgent care or emergency room settings by assessing patient needs and prioritizing treatment. Educate patients and caregivers on medication administration, wound care, nutrition, and chronic disease management including diabetes and cardiovascular conditions. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain strict confidentiality of all medical records and documentation. Experience Valid RN or LPN license in accordance with state requirements; additional certifications such as BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), or PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) are preferred. Demonstrated experience working in diverse healthcare environments including hospitals (ICU, emergency room, trauma centers), skilled nursing facilities, long-term care settings, assisted living communities, or home health agencies. Proven ability to handle complex cases involving acute care situations like ICU or Level I trauma center experience. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks or Athenahealth for efficient documentation and patient management. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs including dementia or Alzheimer's disease is highly valued. Knowledge of ICD coding (ICD-9/10) for accurate medical documentation and billing processes. Skilled in performing procedures such as venipuncture, tube feeding management, sterile processing techniques, and first aid interventions. Strong understanding of long-term care regulations and geriatric patient needs; experience in hospice or palliative care is a plus. Ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages—including pediatrics—and collaborate seamlessly within multidisciplinary teams to deliver holistic care.
