Wise Medical Staffing is seeking a Pediatric OR RN to deliver expert perioperative care to infants, children, and adolescents in partner hospitals. In this role, you'll prepare pediatric patients and families for surgery, administer medications, monitor status, and collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the care team to ensure safe, family-centered outcomes. Responsibilities Provide direct pediatric nursing care to infants, children, and adolescents on an inpatient OR unit Prepare pediatric patients and families for surgical procedures and postoperative recovery Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments following physician orders and safety protocols Monitor vital signs, pain, and patient status, responding promptly to changes in condition Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and interdisciplinary care teams to ensure safe outcomes Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record Educate patients and families on procedures, discharge instructions, and ongoing care Adhere to infection control, patient safety, and regulatory standards Support a child- and family-centered care environment Participate in unit quality improvement and best-practice initiatives Required Skills Pediatric perioperative nursing Patient and family education Medication administration and IV therapy Pediatric assessment and monitoring Electronic medical record (EMR) documentation Infection control and safety protocols Pre- and post-operative care Collaboration with surgical teams Pain assessment and management Critical thinking and clinical judgment
