Responsibilities Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures, including radiology diagnostics and laboratory work. Perform animal restraint and handling using proper techniques to ensure safety for both animals and staff. Prepare and administer medications, including injections via IV insertion, vascular access, and other routes, following aseptic techniques. Monitor anesthesia during surgical procedures, utilizing veterinary anesthesia monitoring equipment to ensure patient safety. Conduct diagnostic tests such as radiographs (X-ray), laboratory analyses, and other diagnostic procedures to aid in accurate diagnosis. Support emergency medicine cases by providing critical & intensive care, including medication administration and animal catheterization. Maintain detailed medical records using veterinary software, documenting treatments, procedures, and patient progress accurately. Qualifications Active Registered or Certified Veterinary Technician license Proven kennel experience with animals of various sizes and temperaments. Including farm animals and equine species. Strong understanding of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, and anatomy. Experience with dental terminology and assisting with dental procedures. Knowledge of animal husbandry practices and pet grooming techniques. Hands-on veterinary critical care experience, including emergency medicine scenarios. Laboratory experience involving phlebotomy (blood draws) and sample processing. Familiarity with general anesthesia protocols, radiology diagnostics, and medical equipment operation. Skilled in dog handling, animal restraint, IV insertion, and animal catheterization. Ability to communicate effectively with clients about pet care needs and treatment plans.
