Responsibilities The Nurse Practitioner, as a primary care provider, is responsible for the patient throughout the course of treatment, including reviewing clinical history, providing the physical examination, making the diagnosis, and treating both chronic and episodic disorders. Works in collaboration with the team and seeks the advice of a team physician or consulting physician whenever a case falls outside the scope of his/her expertise. The Nurse Practitioner may be involved in consultation, research activities, preceptorship of students, and development of patient education program.Qualifications Education:
As required by licensure.Experience:
Clinical experience requirements are dependent upon the specific position and include a minimum of 2 years of experience in a related field. Licensure Current applicable state RN license required. National certification as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) required. Current applicable state license as a Nurse Practitioner with Prescriptive Privileges (NP-PP) required. BLS for Providers certification from the American Heart Association.
