Category Schools - RN Nurse Job Type Contract Step into an impactful role delivering essential healthcare services to young learners as a school nurse in a vibrant educational setting near Sunbury, PA. This full-time contract opportunity spans from September 8th to October 8th, with the potential to extend through the remainder of the academic year. You'll be the cornerstone of health and wellness for children ranging from PreK to 3rd grade, serving a diverse building population of about 500 students.
Qualifications & Experience:
Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in Pennsylvania Certified School Nurse (CSN) credentials required Previous experience in school nursing or with early childhood populations strongly preferred Capability to manage a broad caseload and respond with poise to a variety of student health needs Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct nursing care, including first aid, medication administration, and management of chronic conditions Participate in developing and implementing individualized healthcare and emergency action plans Serve as a healthcare resource for students, faculty, and parents, promoting a positive and safe learning environment Conduct health screenings and maintain accurate student health records in accordance with district and regulatory requirements Act swiftly and effectively during medical emergencies and coordinate with external medical professionals as needed This position offers you a chance to make a notable difference in the daily lives and health outcomes of young students, while engaging in meaningful collaborations with educators and families.
