Strong knowledge of CMS regulations, Medicare requirements, and long-term care regulations. Familiarity with Point, Click, Care EMR/EHR system; proficiency in Microsoft Office is preferred. In-depth understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD-10/ICD coding (ICD-9 knowledge is a plus), CPT coding, DRG assignment, and clinical documentation standards. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple assessments simultaneously while maintaining accuracy. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and state healthcare policies related to medical records management. Effective communication skills to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams including nursing homes, home care agencies, hospice providers, emergency medicine units, or outpatient clinics as needed.
