1 Description American Traveler is hiring a Med Surg/Stepdown RN with active SC or compact license and 2 years of med surg experience for a general surgical and ortho unit requiring frequent floating. Details 29-bed general surgical and ortho unit with medical overflow Frequent floating between Med Surg, Stepdown, and MS/Tele units required Stepdown ratios of 1:4-5 and Med Surg ratios of 1:5-6 Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM Weekday schedule with every other weekend required Holiday coverage required as needed Uses Meditech EMR Requirements Active SC or compact RN license required BLS and ACLS certifications required Minimum 2 years of med surg experience required Stepdown/PCU experience required due to floating responsibilities IV start skills required Meditech charting experience preferred but not required Additional Information Care for general surgical, orthopedic, and medical overflow patients Frequent floating within the hospital in rotation with staff based on clinical experience Scrubs not provided; royal blue/white required Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel rate First-time travelers are welcome to apply Facility will not accept candidates with license or background issues Previous employees must have been gone at least 1 year and in good standing at time of departure Minimal to no RTO approved; any requested time off must be discussed prior to assignment start
