Job Description

As a Neuro ICU Registered Nurse at HCA Healthcare, you will deliver specialized critical care to patients with complex neurological conditions in a fast-paced ICU setting. You'll perform comprehensive assessments, manage ventilators and neuro-monitoring equipment, administer medications and infusions, and respond rapidly to changes in patient status. Collaborating closely with physicians and the interdisciplinary team, you will support families, coordinate care transitions, and uphold evidence-based, patient-centered practices. Responsibilities Provide direct neuro-critical care to patients with complex neurological conditions Perform ongoing assessments and interpret neuro and hemodynamic data Administer medications, titrate drips, and manage ventilators and neuro-monitoring devices Respond to emergencies and rapid changes in patient status Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and the interdisciplinary care team Educate and support patients and families regarding conditions and care plans Document care accurately in the electronic health record Follow evidence-based protocols, safety standards, and infection control practices Participate in quality improvement and unit-based initiatives Precept or mentor new nurses as needed Required Skills Neuro assessment and neuro-critical care ICU nursing and hemodynamic monitoring Ventilator management Administration and titration of IV drips Use of neuro-monitoring equipment (ICP monitoring, EEG, etc.) Cardiac and respiratory monitoring Emergency response and code management Electronic health record documentation Patient and family education Infection control and safety protocols
