Job Description
Registered Nurse (RN)
- Medical PCU
- Full-time, 7P _Bring your passion to Texas Health so we are better + together_ Work location: Texas Health Fort Worth, 1304 Pennsylvania Ave, Fort Worth, TX 76104 Work hours: Full-time, 36 hours weekly, 3-12 hours shifts, 7:00 pm
- 7:00 am Department highlights: + 28-bed Medical PCU department + Intermediate level of care to a wide variety of medical patients at a 3:1 patient to nurse ratio.
+ This patient population requiring specialized monitoring and interventions, includes patient diagnosis such as: diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), respiratory compromised patients that require specialized equipment including continuous respiratory interventions, home ventilation systems, and tracheostomy care, multi-system organ failure, respiratory distress, sepsis, hematology, GI Bleeds, Renal/Liver Failure, Acid-Base and Electrolyte Imbalances, and cardiac abnormalities.
+ Medication management includes continuous and titratable IV medications to support the intermediate care population.

+ Nursing Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
+ Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire
+ BCLS
- prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly + ACLS
- within 90 days of hire required + CPI
- Crisis Prevention Intervention Training
- within 90 days of hire + 1-year experience as a registered nurse or completion of an RN residency program required + PCU experience preferred
- will consider Tele and Med/Surg experience In addition to the required qualifications, a successful RN will + demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
+ maintain a positive, customer-focused attitude toward patients + possess a strong work ethic and always display a high level of professionalism + have basic computer skills using medical management application systems What You Will Do Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process

- Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
- Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
