Job Description

Memorial Hermann Health System seeks a Registered Nurse for our Level IV Neonatal ICU in Houston. In this role, you will deliver advanced, evidence-based care to critically ill newborns, including ventilator and high-acuity therapy management. You will continuously assess and monitor patients, administer medications, and coordinate complex care plans with neonatologists and an interdisciplinary team. You'll educate and support families, uphold rigorous safety and infection control standards, and participate in quality initiatives. Responsibilities Deliver complex, evidence-based nursing care to critically ill neonates in a Level IV NICUContinuously assess, monitor, and document infants' conditions and respond to rapid changes Administer medications, treatments, and manage advanced equipment such as ventilators and IV lines Collaborate with neonatologists and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans Educate and support families on infant conditions, treatments, and discharge planning Maintain strict adherence to safety, infection control, and regulatory standards Preceptor, mentor, and support less experienced NICU nurses and clinical staff Participate in quality improvement, clinical initiatives, and best-practice implementation Required Skills Neonatal intensive care nursing Ventilator management Neonatal resuscitation IV therapy and central line management Medication administration in neonates Electronic health record documentation Family education and counseling Infection prevention and control Clinical assessment of high-risk neonates Interdisciplinary care coordination
