We are seeking passionate and experienced Flight Nurses to join an elite air medical team in Victoria, Texas.

As a Flight Nurse, youll be at the forefront of critical care, providing rapid response and advanced medical assistance to critically ill and injured patients. This position provides an opportunity to combine advanced nursing skills with aviation and emergency medicine while making a direct impact on patients and communities.

Job Summary

Under the direction and supervision of the Base Medical Supervisor or Manager of Business Operations, as applicable, the Flight Nurse is responsible for providing safe, comprehensive care to critically ill and/or injured patients of all ages.

Care is provided in the pre-hospital environment and during inter-facility transports utilizing the specialized principles and techniques of flight nursing, emergency procedures, and diagnostics.

Responsibilities

Perform a wide range of specialized functions, complex assessments, therapies, and emergency treatment of patients transported by rotor-wing, fixed-wing, and/or ground.

Provide advanced clinical care to critically ill and injured patients during stabilization and transport.

Accurately document patient assessments, treatments, and other appropriate information during stabilization and transport.

Complete accurate and comprehensive billing documentation associated with patient transports.

Maintain and facilitate effective and timely communication between management and internal and external customers.

Participate in activities supporting public relations and marketing efforts.

Maintain the knowledge and skills required for the flight nursing role through mandatory meetings, chart reviews, equipment reviews, skills labs, clinical rotations, and continuing education.

Complete all required annual recurrent competencies.

Maintain an active RN license and all certifications required by organizational policy.

Function clinically under the direction of the programs Medical Director through established medical protocols, procedures, and online medical guidance.

Work closely with clinical leadership to maintain the highest standards of patient care and operational readiness.

Minimum Qualifications

Must possess an active RN license to practice in the applicable state.

Minimum of 3 years of current nursing experience in an Emergency Department or ICU at a Level I, II, or III trauma-designated hospital.

Five years of current critical care/emergency experience preferred.

Current BLS certification.

Current ACLS certification.

Current PALS certification.

Current trauma certification such as TNATC, TNCC, ITLS, or PHTLS.

NRP preferred.

Instructor certifications preferred.

CFRN required within 24 months of hire.

Previous flight or critical-care transport experience preferred.

Must successfully complete the organizations flight medical education/orientation program.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel and external customers.

Basic computer skills, including email and electronic patient charting.

Must meet and maintain applicable clinical personnel weight requirements for flight operations.

Must maintain a body weight below 235 lbs.

Must be able to successfully complete a pre-placement physical examination, including a functional capacity assessment for strength and flexibility.

Must be capable of lifting up to 100 lbs.

Must successfully complete required drug screening.

Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder (Permanent Resident).

Must reside within or be willing to relocate to within a 60-minute drive of the assigned base, unless off-duty housing is provided.
