Lakeview Hospital is seeking an RN for our Ortho Med Surg unit (mixed shifts). In this role, you will provide high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to adult patients with orthopedic and medical-surgical needs in a structured, behavioral health-aligned environment. Responsibilities include assessment, care planning, medication administration, post-op and chronic condition management, coordination with an interdisciplinary team, patient and family education, and safety monitoring. You'll work collaboratively in a compassionate, patient-centered culture that supports continuous learning, clinical growth, and advancement. Responsibilities Deliver direct nursing care to orthopedic and med-surg patients across mixed shifts Perform comprehensive assessments and develop individualized care plans Administer medications and treatments, including post-op pain and wound management Monitor patient status, respond to changes, and escalate concerns promptly Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members Educate patients and families on diagnoses, procedures, and discharge plans Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic health record Follow safety, infection control, and quality standards for a psychiatric-aligned setting Support de-escalation and therapeutic communication when behavioral needs arise Participate in ongoing education, competency training, and quality improvement initiatives Required Skills Orthopedic post-operative care Medical-surgical nursing Patient assessment and triage Medication administration and IV therapy Wound and pain management Care planning and clinical documentation Infection prevention and safety practices Therapeutic communication and de-escalation Interdisciplinary care coordination Electronic Health Record (EHR) documentation
