Job Description

Bring your nursing expertise to a rewarding role supporting students as a temporary school nurse for the spring semester. This contract position serves a vibrant school community with a population of 363 students, ensuring a healthy, safe, and nurturing environment for all. The assignment runs from February through May, making it an ideal opportunity for nurses seeking short-term engagement while making a meaningful impact. Your primary responsibility will be overseeing the health and wellness of the entire school population, managing daily clinic activities, administering medications, providing first aid, and responding to medical needs throughout the school day. As the primary nurse on campus, your guidance and care will help children thrive academically and socially in a safe setting.
Qualifications and Experience:
Valid, unencumbered RN license required. Previous school nursing experience or experience working with pediatric populations is highly desirable. Current CPR certification. Strong assessment, communication, and documentation skills. Ability to work independently and handle emergencies calmly and efficiently. Adaptability and compassion when working with students, staff, and parents.
Role Responsibilities:
Provide nursing care and health services to students and staff. Administer prescribed medications and treatments as needed. Respond to injuries, health concerns, and emergencies promptly. Maintain accurate and confidential health records. Monitor and implement health protocols; assist with health screenings. Collaborate with teachers, families, and administration for coordinated student care. Promote health education initiatives within the school. This role is set at the Crewe Primary location, with a schedule of 7:30am to 3:00pm, allowing you to maintain work-life balance while pursuing your nursing passion in an educational setting.
