ASAP Job Summary We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) to join its Per Diem team in Arlington, Virginia. The L&D RN will provide comprehensive care to mothers during labor, delivery, recovery, and the immediate postpartum period while ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and clinical excellence. Key Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care to laboring and postpartum patients. Monitor maternal and fetal well-being through continuous assessment and fetal heart monitoring. Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments as prescribed. Assist physicians and midwives during vaginal and cesarean deliveries. Recognize and respond to obstetric emergencies and maternal complications. Educate patients and families regarding labor, delivery, newborn care, and postpartum recovery. Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans. Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes in the electronic medical record. Required Qualifications Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia or compact state license. Minimum one (1) year of recent Labor & Delivery experience preferred. Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced acute care environment.
