A Registered Nurse provides medical care and treatment, educates patients about their conditions, and provides emotional support to patients and families. Works in hospitals, schools, clinics or community health centers. Works under the supervision of a physician or other specialist, and serves as the primary point of care for patients in a hospital setting. May specialize in emergency room work, or treatment for a particular condition, or specialize in working with infants, the elderly or other patient groups. May work as an advanced practice specialists and prescribe medications in addition to offering specialty care.
Are you an experienced RN looking for a flexible, very part-time position without a traditional bedside nursing schedule? We are a Virginia-licensed Home Care Organization in Fairfax seeking a dependable and organized Registered Nurse (RN) to support our personal care program for approximately 5 hours per week . This is an in-person, part-time position focused primarily on caregiver training and competency, client assessments and supervisory visits, documentation, and regulatory compliance. Our agency provides non-skilled personal care services that help clients safely remain in their homes. What You'll Do As our RN, you will help ensure that clients receive appropriate personal care services and that caregivers are properly trained and supported.
Responsibilities include:
Conduct client assessments, supervisory visits, and nursing documentation. Develop, review, and update plans of care as needed. Provide caregiver orientation, skills training, competency evaluations, and annual in-service education. Identify caregiver competency gaps and provide additional instruction or corrective training. Verify and document caregiver competency when required. Assist with caregiver interviews, performance reviews, and remediation. Review caregiver notes, service records, incident reports, and other required documentation. Assist with documentation related to changes in client services. Help investigate and document incidents, complaints, missed visits, hospitalizations, medication concerns, and suspected abuse or neglect. Participate in quality assurance, chart reviews, and regulatory compliance activities. Maintain client and employee confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements. What We're Looking For Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in Virginia . At least one year of related clinical nursing experience . Strong assessment, documentation, teaching, and communication skills. Organized, dependable, and comfortable working independently. Ability to successfully complete required background and registry checks. Satisfactory professional references and employment history. Home care, home health, personal care, or supervisory experience is a plus.
