9687202-23974 Job Description Embark on a rewarding opportunity serving as a school nurse for a vibrant primary school community near Victoria, VA for the spring semester. This temporary contract position offers an impactful chance to provide comprehensive nursing care for a student body of approximately 363 children. Working closely with students, faculty, and families, youll play a pivotal role in ensuring a safe and healthy environment during the busy school day.

Primary Responsibilities:

Deliver direct nursing care, first aid, and health assessments to students and staff as needed Manage care plans for students with chronic health conditions or special medical needs Administer medications and maintain accurate health records in compliance with school and state guidelines Promote health education and wellness initiatives for the school community Respond to emergencies and communicate with parents or guardians regarding health issues Collaborate with educators, counselors, and external healthcare providers to support student wellbeing Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional nursing practices at all times

Desired Qualifications:

Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license, with prior school nursing experience preferred Strong clinical and assessment skills in the pediatric and adolescent population Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities Experience working in a school environment is a plus CPR and First Aid certification required Flexibility, compassion, and a strong sense of responsibility Willingness to adapt to the changing needs of a dynamic school setting Enjoy a consistent Monday-Friday daytime schedule, from 7:30am to 3:00pm, fostering strong connections within the school community.
