RN INTENSIVE CARE UNIT
Shift:
12-hours Nights Shift details: 7.00 PM to 7.30 AM 36 hours/week. (3
- 12) 13-week assignment Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and managing ventilators and IV infusions.
Perform detailed patient assessments and develop individualized care plans aligned with best practices and hospital protocols. Utilize advanced skills such as airway management, suturing, catheterization, and aseptic techniques to support patient recovery. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals on diagnostic evaluations, treatment plans, and emergency response procedures. Document all patient interactions accurately within electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems), ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings focused on discharge planning, case management, and long-term care strategies. Maintain proficiency in critical care procedures such as trauma medicine, infectious disease care, neonatal resuscitation procedures, and acute pain management. Skills Extensive ICU experience with familiarity in Level I and Level II trauma center protocols and emergency medicine procedures. Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks for accurate medical records management. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), and laboratory experience for diagnostic evaluation. Skilled in advanced nursing techniques including ventilator management, tube feeding, dialysis support, and infection control practices. Experience working with diverse patient populations including pediatrics (PICU), geriatrics (memory care), behavioral health, hospice & palliative medicine, and individuals with developmental disabilities. Ability to perform complex procedures such as spinal taps, gastric lavage, sonography assistance, and neonatal ventilator management. Excellent communication skills for triage assessments, health coaching, patient education, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
