Job Summary Registered Nurse (RN) - Correctional Healthcare State of Wisconsin Full-time, Contract 2 days a week EOW 6P to 6AM Responsibilities Deliver immediate, quality nursing care to inmates in a correctional setting. Assess, document, and triage inmate health concerns with accurate charting. Administer medications and monitor nurse-driven treatment plans. Maintain a safe, compliant, and orderly clinical environment. Uphold confidentiality and ethical standards in all inmate interactions. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care. Implement evidence-based protocols to improve health outcomes. Track and analyze patient metrics to meet performance targets. Document incident reports and participate in quality improvement initiatives. Maintain readiness for on-site emergencies and crisis response. Educate inmates on health maintenance, prevention, and wellness. Mentor and support peers to foster professional growth and merit-based advancement. Experience/Qualifications Active RN license in the state of employment, with no sanctions. Correctional healthcare experience or demonstrated ability to work in secure settings. Strong clinical assessment, triage, and charting skills for inmate populations. Medication administration and monitoring per nurse-driven treatment plans. Knowledge of inmate confidentiality, HIPAA-like standards, and ethical care. Crisis response readiness and on-site emergency protocols. Ability to document incident reports and participate in quality improvement projects.
