Job Description

Position Summary Anchorage Sleep Center is seeking a friendly, professional, and detail-oriented Front Office Coordinator to join our growing specialty practice. As the first point of contact for patients and visitors, the Front Office Coordinator plays a vital role in creating a welcoming and positive patient experience while ensuring the efficient operation of the front office. The ideal candidate is customer-service driven, organized, able to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and enjoys working as part of a collaborative healthcare team. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Greet patients, visitors, and vendors in a professional and welcoming manner. Check patients in and out accurately while verifying demographic and insurance information. Answer a high-volume, multi-line telephone system promptly and courteously. Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments following provider scheduling guidelines. Provide patients with appointment instructions, forms, and other necessary information. Collect co-pays, deductibles, and outstanding balances while accurately processing payments. Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations. Scan, upload, and index patient documents into the electronic medical record (EMR). Process incoming and outgoing referrals and medical records requests. Respond to patient inquiries or direct questions to the appropriate clinical or administrative staff. Monitor voicemail, fax queues, patient portal messages, and front office communication throughout the day. Coordinate patient flow to ensure timely rooming and provider efficiency. Verify insurance eligibility and update patient information as needed. Assist walk-in patients and visitors while maintaining an organized reception area. Complete routine administrative and clerical duties including filing, copying, faxing, mailing, and document preparation. Support providers and clinical staff with administrative tasks as assigned. Maintain professionalism and provide exceptional customer service during every patient interaction. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum of one (1) years of medical office or medical receptionist experience preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology and medical office procedures. Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems preferred. Familiarity with insurance verification, referrals, and patient registration processes. Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills. Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail. Ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, and standard office equipment. Schedule Full-time 5x8 schedule (Four 10-hour shifts may be considered) Occasional Saturday availability Willingness to travel between Anchorage and Mat-Su clinic locations for office coverage as needed Benefits Competitive pay based on experience 401(k) 401(k) matching
