Job Description

Full Time Job Summary Schedules patients for outpatient procedures. Registers patients for outpatient procedures. Registers and pre-registers patients for scheduled procedures including phone registration. Recepts and registers ED patients. Reviews and updates existing demographic information with each customer including witnessing the customer/family member's signature on all registration forms. Verifies insurance on all patients and places a note under each account. Reviews registrations for errors. Scans all registration documents once completed. Collects co pays and or deductibles when applicable. Prepares a daily deposit and balances out with the next employee. Performs as a relief person for switchboard. Performs multiple tasks simultaneously keeping information organized for processing. Ensures that customer service policies and guidelines are followed. Communicates well with all customers including physicians and hospital staff. Minimum Qualifications Education Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent advanced clerical training preferred. Experience Minimum of 2 years clerical experience, knowledge of insurance regulations, collections, customer service skills, computer background, knowledge of keyboard, and typing (minimum of 40 wpm). Medical terminology preferred. Licenses, Certifications, and/or Registrations None required Equipment, Tools, Work Aids Copy Machine, calculator, fax machine, Meditech, Windows, credit/debit card machine, printer as well as compliance checker. Benefits Yes Approximate Work Schedule Full Time 3-4 days a week. 7A-7P and 10A-10P
