Patient Financial Services Specialist (Back End)

Job Overview:
The Patient Financial Services (PFS) Specialist plays a critical role in supporting the collections team in achieving departmental goals, including maximizing cash collections and improving reimbursement rates. This position requires comprehensive knowledge of both government and commercial payer requirements, the ability to interpret Explanation of Benefits (EOBs), and a proactive approach to claims resolution across all aging categories.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the collections team to meet daily productivity and quality targets Touch 50 accounts per day - will be audited each month on amount and quality Support training and coaching initiatives to enhance team performance and efficiency Document all account activity clearly and accurately in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures and manager directives Ensure all actions are audit-ready Proactively manage the full spectrum of outstanding A/R, including denials and credits Drive reduction in A/R aging in alignment with departmental goals Partner with team members to identify and resolve claim errors and discrepancies Promote continuous improvement in claims accuracy Prepare and submit corrected claims and appeals per payer-specific guidelines and timelines Need to be able to push back on insurances/handle appeals, work denials, etc. Monitor responses and follow up as necessary to ensure timely resolution Participate in special assignments or projects as directed by leadership
Schedule/Hours:
REMOTE. Monday - Friday. Can start as early as 6am PST - 8 hours shift.
