Join UCLA Health's Ambulatory Float Team and support patients across 25+ specialties, including Primary Care, Pediatrics, specialty, and surgical practices. As a Team Assistant, you'll gain exposure to diverse clinical settings while helping deliver an exceptional patient experience across UCLA Health's ambulatory network. We're looking for a flexible, energetic professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You'll support patient flow from registration through discharge, collaborate with clinic teams to ensure smooth operations and outstanding service, process prior authorizations and referrals, complete surgery scheduling tasks, assist in managing physicians' clinic appointments and surgery schedules, and gather necessary information for successful patient consultations. You'll also provide coverage across multiple practices based on staffing needs. Travel Requirements Travel to all UCLA Health Ambulatory Community Clinics throughout Southern California is required, and you must be physically present at assigned worksites. Assignment locations are based on operational needs and are subject to change. Although travel to all UCLA Health community practices is required, current staffing needs are primarily located in the Southwest Valley region, including:

$31.88 Hourly - $31.88 Hourly Pay range: $31.88 - $45.66 an hour
Qualifications Required:
Ability to travel to various UCLA Health locations and being physically present at the job site Ability to work various days/shifts and occasional weekends; Days and hours may vary depending on assignments. Familiarity and knowledge of authorization process and managed care programs Knowledge of medical terminology Skill in setting priorities which accurately reflect the relative importance of job responsibilities Ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships with Faculty, Staff, Administration, and patients from various social, cultural, and economic backgrounds. Skill in verbal communications to clearly convey complex problems in both formal and informal situations. Ability to interact diplomatically and sympathetically with a patient population in varying degrees of health. Ability to creatively integrate competing demands into a productive working environment. Ability to demonstrate clear knowledge of job responsibilities; skillfully use equipment, software and tools required to do the job; and to work steadily to get job done.
Preferred:
Knowledge of major medical insurance plans and types of coverage provided. Working knowledge of CareConnect system to complete on-line transactions, including appointment scheduling, procedure scheduling, encounter registration system, completing referrals, inputting authorizations, hospital lab results and medical reports.
