Legal Assistant & Intake Coordinator Commercial Collection & Judgment Enforcement Law Firm Location:
Newport Center / Fashion Island, Newport Beach, CA 92660
Position Type:
Full-Time, In-Office About the Position Our established Collection and Judgment Enforcement law firm is seeking a legal assistant & Intake Coordinator to join our team in Newport Beach. The legal assistant role is assisting the lawyers in handling cases from inception to collection. Civil California experience is preferred. The intake coordinator involves a direct client, opposing and referring counsel and court personnel interacting roles requiring exceptional communication skills, strong phone presence, and the ability to assess and organize potential new matters and doing investigations of both potential clients and opposing parties. Key Responsibilities Client Intake & Case Evaluation Answer and screen incoming calls. Serve as the first point of contact for prospective clients. Gather relevant information and documentation from potential clients. Conduct initial assessments of prospective cases for intake committee review. Conduct preliminary screenings, public records research, database searches, online and public information investigations, and research to assess case viability. Evaluate case information and assist in determining case suitability and strength. Maintain a positive, professional, and service-oriented client experience. Legal Assistant Duties Assist attorneys with drafting and preparing legal documents, including: Correspondence and Pleadings Prepare and electronically file court documents. Maintain attorney calendars, court dates, and case deadlines. Organize and manage case files and client records. Assist with administrative and case management tasks as needed. Qualifications Required AA or better. Minimum one (1) year of experience in California civil procedure in a law office. Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal. Excellent telephone, customer service, and interpersonal skills. Ability to be present in office in Newport Beach, CA 92660 daily Technical Skills Microsoft Word and Microsoft 365 Google Drive Timekeeping and legal practice management software Electronic court filing systems General proficiency with office technology and databases Work Environment This is a full-time, in-office position working alongside: 2 Attorneys 2 Paralegals 1 Administrative Team Member Benefits Easy & free close parking Paid Sick Time Paid Time Off (PTO)
