Job Description
Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented and organized Medical Office Assistant to join our team. The Medical Office Assistant will provide administrative support in a medical office setting, ensuring smooth operations and excellent patient service. This would be an excellent opportunity for candidates with future career goals in healthcare and/or dermatology. Please do not apply if you cannot commit to working/commuting to Rancho Santa Margarita, CA at least 2-3 days per week. Thank you!! Work schedule is Monday, Tuesday, and alternate Wednesdays.Responsibilities:
- Greet and check-in patients, verifying demographic information and insurance details
- Schedule appointments and manage the appointment calendar
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries or direct calls to the appropriate staff member
- Assist with medical record management, including filing, scanning, and organizing documents
- Enter patient information into electronic health record systems such as Office Ally and EMA
- Provide administrative support to medical staff, including physicians and PA's
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
- Assist with billing and insurance claims processing
- Perform basic medical office tasks such as taking vital signs or preparing examination rooms
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certification in medical office administration is a plus
- Previous experience in a medical office setting for at least 1 year
- Strong administrative skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with patients and medical staff
- Spanish, Mandarin, or Vietnamese speaking is desirable but not required
